  Session 2: Woodworkers Academy - Mondays | Kinder - Grade 5 [Sold Out]

  With our program, your students will learn: how to use various woodworking hand tools, building techniques, & carpentry related math skills. All beginners will start by making a spin top, which gives them a fundamental introduction to most of our tools and how to use them. Once the spin tops have been completed, students can choose from a collection of our pre-designed projects, as well as create ideas of their own. Projects may include birdhouses, toy cars, boats, treasure chests, book shelves and whatever else our imaginations can come up with! Some of the tools that we use are brace drills, egg beater drills, tri-squares, coping saws, hand saws, & c-clamps. This program offers children a creative outlet whilst learning vital skills that will serve them throughout their entire lives.

  EnActe School of Drama: Team Building Through Stories - Mondays | Kinder - Grade 2 [Sold Out]

  Our introduction to performance through classic storytelling provides a safe space for students to explore their imaginations and emotions through theatre games and performance. Students will work collaboratively in an ensemble performance-based retelling of a storybook, under the guidance of a professional storyteller. They will learn how to work as a team, become stewards of their community, how to project their voices, communicate with their body and exercise critical thinking skills through story analysis and game play. Through all of these tools, each student will find a new way of communicating and succeeding with the world around them.

  PYT: Play in a Box - Wednesdays | Grades 3-5 [Sold Out]

  Trinity School is teaming up with Peninsula Youth Theatre to offer after-school drama this year! Students will learn the basics of acting and storytelling while playing fun theatre games and rehearsing a short play. The program culminates in a final performance for family and friends on December 6th at 4 pm. Parents will be responsible for providing their child's simple costume (instructions provided) and helping with memorization. Classes will be taught by Beth McClelland. PYT’s unique family atmosphere successfully uses theater performances and classes to develop a strong sense of self-esteem and to nurture social and communication skills that are useful in all walks of life.   EnActe School of Drama: Beginning Critical Thinking and Creative Writing - Thursdays | Grades 3-5 [Sold Out]

  Our popular program is designed for either elementary or middle schoolers. A typical day begins with a screening of a short animated film (3-8 minutes), then delves into story analysis and design in order to help students think critically to creatively write a story using the same logical / narrative structures. Each class ends with each student having an outline for a clearly communicated coherent narrative. This program helps students learn the invaluable skill of clear and persuasive communication from a basis of storytelling. Ultimately, students will have the structures necessary to make arguments, change minds, and impact the future. FINAL PROJECT: Each student will walk away with a portfolio of story outlines they have brainstormed during their time in the class.
